Kommt mit in den Zauberwald! Ein Trallsänger erzählt Geschichten von Menschen und Wesen, alltägliche, zeitlose Geschichten. Er singt Melodien ohne Text zum Tanz, er fährt von Dorf zu Dorf. Seit Jahrhunderten erhalten, entwickelt der Gesangsstil des Tralls neue Popularität, denn er ist so vielseitig. Er kann Jazz sein und Pop und Rock, er beginnt in der schwedischen Folklore aber alle Wege stehen offen. Trallskogen spielt eigene Songs angelehnt an schwedische Folklore.
Annika Jonsson lebt und arbeitet in Saarbrücken. Die Sängerin wuchs zweisprachig bei deutsch-schwedischen Eltern in Boppard auf und fand später über Umwege von der Mathematik zur Musik, als sie den Jazz für sich entdeckte. Sie schloss ihr Mathematikstudium in Kaiserslautern ab, bevor sie in Saarbrücken von 2011 bis 2016 Jazzgesang an der Hochschule für Musik Saar bei Anne Czichowsky studierte. Für ihr Abschlussprojekt ging sie in Schweden auf Suche nach ihren musikalischen Wurzeln. Im Quintett mit saarländischen Musikern an Piano/Synthesizer, Gitarre, Kontrabass und Schlagzeug hat die Band ihren Sound entwickelt in einer Mischung aus akustischen und elektronischen Klängen. Das Trallskogen Debüt Album erschien im Herbst 2017 auf dem Jazzlabel Nikasounds.
Das aktuelle Programm „Trallskogen – ein Musikmärchen“ ist eine spartenübergreifende Kooperation der Band mit dem Schauspieler Dieter Meier und dem Videokünstler Volker Schütz. Annika Jonsson hat hierzu ein Märchen geschrieben und Songs für die mystischen Wesen des Zauberwaldes.

Följ med till trollskogen! En trallare berättar historier om människor och varelser, vardagliga, tidlösa berättelser. Han sjunger melodier utan ord som bjuder upp till dans, han åker från by tilll by. Sångstilen trall har förts vidare från generation till generation och upplever idag en ny popularitet därför att den är så mångsidig. Den kan vara jazz, pop eller rock, den har sin början i svensk folkmusik men allt är möjligt.
Trallskogen spelar egna låtar inspirerad av svensk folkmusik.

Follow us into the magic forest! A trall singer tells stories about people and creatures, timeless, everyday stories. Travelling from one village to another he sings melodies without words for dancers. The singing style of trall has been passed on for generations, and today it has gained new popularity because of its diversity. Beginning as Swedish folk music it can be Jazz, Pop and Rock – but everything is possible. Trallskogen plays original compositions by the singer Annika Jonsson, inspired by Swedish folk music.
During a visit to the “Svenska Visarkivet” in Stockholm (an archive that wants to preserve notes and audio recordings of the Swedish folklore music), Annika Jonsson discovered very old recordings of singers, who back then moved with their songs from village to village, sang at festivities and told stories. Fascinated by this tradition and the sound of the trall song, she mixed elements of folklore with jazz and pop for folk jazz. The album consists of new pieces that take you into the world of elves and trolls in the magic forest (Swedish “Trollskogen”).
Annika Jonsson lives and works in Saarbrücken, Germany. The singer grew up bilingual with German-Swedish parents in Boppard and later found detours from mathematics to music when she discovered jazz for herself. She completed her mathematics studies in Kaiserslautern before she studied jazz in Saarbrücken from 2011 to 2016 at the Saar Academy of Music with Anne Czichowsky. For her final project she went to Sweden to search for her musical roots. Back in Saarbrücken, she found a band for this extraordinary project Trallskogen. As a quintet, the musicians developed their band sound and arrangements. The Trallskogen debut album was released in autumn 2017 on the jazz label Nikasounds (NKS2017-01).
